Keshari Pedhas as the name suggests is made with loads of saffron strands. It is easy to make at home & tastes better than the store bought ones. These are definately must try as they take hardly 15 minutes to get ready with limited ingredients.
Ingredients
250 gms Khava (Mava)
Powdered Sugar -1/4 of khava
Saffron strands generously
Cardamom (optional)
Pistachios for garnish
Method
Soak saffron in warm milk.
Khava is thickened milk by constant heating. Crumble khave with hands. Heat it in a pan on very low flame. Khava will melt.
Now add powdered sugar. When sugar is added the mixture becomes runny. Keep cooking at low heat and continuously stirring so that it does stick to the bottom.
Now mix the soaked saffron. Add cardamom & mix well. When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, transger it to a plate and allow it to cool.
When almost cool roll it into pedhas & garnish with pistachios & saffron.
Yummy Saffron pedhas are ready.
